We have registered our school to take part in the online World Education Games.  More than 5 million students from 200 countries and territories will register for the games in 2015. The games are an exciting online challenge open to all our school’s students who will be going up against students from all around the world.

Each child gets their own unique username and password which they should have received from their class teacher.  They will need to sign in at www.worldeducationgames.com

The children compete live against other children from all around the world.  They get instant results and there are certificates available for gaining points and making progress as well as prizes for being the best student or school in the world.

They can practise as many times as they like up until the day itself and can log in using any computer at home or at school.  There is even an app to download for tablets.  Registering for the games also means that we get free access throughout the whole of October.  We will provide time during the school day for pupils to practise if you do not have access to the internet at home.

We will be taking part in the games at school and trying to gain as many points as we can.  Can we be the best school in the world?  On the actual days, each class will have a timetabled slot so that every child can complete in at least 20 different games during the school day.

If you have any questions about the site or the activities then do not hesitate to ask.  We hope that you’ll encourage your children to join in!

We hope that with lots of practise, we will see some improvement in the recall of maths facts and spellings.  Because of this, at the end of October, we will also be holding our very own Buglawton Spelling & Maths Bee to find our best spellers and mathematicians.  Details to follow.

Mathletics certificates for gaining over 100 participation points in week ending 11th October have been awarded to:

A special mention goes to Francis in Y5 who was ranked number 4 out of all the UK students on Thursday 8th October!  That is an amazing achievement.
