What is the PTA?
The PTA is a group of parents and staff who volunteer their time to help raise money to be spent on extra school resources and donations towards school trips.
All parents automatically become a member of the PTA when their child/children start at Buglawton School.
What do we do?
Organise fundraising events for both children and parents!
Recently organised events have included Chocolate Bingo, Bonfire and Spring Discos, Christmas and Summer Fairs, Secret Santa Sale, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Sales, Penny Trails and more!
We have previously raised £5000 to fund the Trim Trail and equipment within the school grounds. We have also paid for a new PA system, laptops and other ICT resources for the children.
We also donate each year towards the coach for the annual whole school pantomime trip, special events in school and wider opportunities (music lessons). We also contribute towards every child going on a school trip each term.
How you can help
If you can help in any way it would be very much appreciated whether it is donating items for the fairs, making teas and coffees or running a stall!
If you would like to get involved you can join us at the Church House where we meet regularly or you can leave your contact details with the school office. Come along and find out what it is all about!
Why not become a member of our 50/50 club? Set up a standing order at your bank for £2 each month and be entered into a prize draw. Half of the money goes into the PTA fund and half can be won by the members.
New ideas for fundraising are always welcome as, the more money that is raised, the more Buglawton children benefit!
We recently had a Chocolate Bingo night. It was great fun – playing bingo and winning chocolate!! We’ve also organised a cake sale, a bonfire disco with prizes for the best hat/mask.
There was lots of dancing and the prizes went to Lily, Megan and Morgan!
We also had a stall at the Christmas Light Switch-On in Congleton. It was very wet and windy but we had a great night!
It was very busy and the choir sang beautifully to open the fair, along with the Mayor of Congleton.
Party Afternoon – 27th April 2017 – Magician Nick Barnes entertained us!
The PTA paid for a Circus Skills Workshop to visit school for the day and work with all the children. They had a great time!
