A very warm welcome to Buglawton Primary School. We are all very proud of our school and our aim is that all new children to the school feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
‘Our educational vision is to be a place of excellence and enjoyment. A place where everyone is valued for their individuality and can develop their potential, so that they can make a positive contribution to society’
We feel that effective education is based on a strong partnership between school and home with the child being at the centre. We strive to build good, honest relationships with all our parents and carers.
We plan many exciting and enriching activities each term and strive to make learning as much fun as possible. We aim to offer the children first hand experiences on which to build their skills and knowledge. Please encourage your child to take part in all the extra activities that we offer as this helps them develop confidence in lots of different areas.
We aim to promote self-discipline, good manners and co-operation. We want your children to be aspirational and we aim to teach them learning strategies in order for them to develop a real love of learning. Our children will learn HOW to learn, not just what to learn. Learn more about learning how to learn and our Buglawton Bees to Success here.
We hope you will take every opportunity to engage with us by communicating through the home/school diaries, questionnaires, parent/teacher meetings, and informal chats. Our school is very much a community where all voices are listened to and valued.
All parents and carers are welcome to join the PTA (Parent Teacher Association). This group meet informally and share ideas of how we can strengthen our school and raise money for the school. More information about the PTA can be found here.
The school has a very supportive Governing body who hold the school to account and act as our critical friends. Further information about the Governing Body can be found here
We have a before and after school club, known as “The Beehive” which is led by the Governing Body and many of the staff who work in the school also work in these clubs. At these clubs the children are able to socialise with other at all ages across the school and engage in play based activities whilst preparing for or unwinding from their busy school day.
All the staff at Buglawton School are very hard working, passionate about the children in their care and education in general. We aim to know every child personally, even if they are not in our class.
In terms of results, the school is one of the top performing schools nationally. Children at the end of KS2 achieve excellent attainment and make significantly better than expected progress overall.
We hope you enjoy our website. If you would like to see any further information on it, or have any comments to make, please email email@example.com – we really value feedback.
We look forward to working with you in partnership to enable your child to flourish and succeed.
